Building, Assembling, Adapting : three different approaches to the design of medical technologies

Building, Assembling, Adapting : three different approaches to the design of medical technologiesWhat is the key motivation driving someone to create a new medical technology? How does a technology go from an idea to a useable product? What challenges are met throughout this journey? Hinnovic is thrilled to present this 6-minute video (in French) that explores these questions. The video was produced as part of our knowledge transfer and exchange efforts, to enable discussion between health technology developers and users.

It summarises the key findings of a scientific paper describing why and how three teams of entrepreneurs developed new health technologies. It was first shown at an invitational workshop hosted in Montreal in June 2012. Combining multimedia tools and small-group deliberations, this workshop was a rare opportunity for technology designers and users to interact and debate on technological and policy issues that are pivotal to the sustainability of healthcare systems.
