Archana P. Sangole on Assistive Technology in Cognitive Rehabilitation
Cognition is an individual’s ability to assimilate information in order to make conscious decisions or to act and response to a situation. Cognitive deficits often include difficulty in remembering how to perform everyday activities, in recalling events and in assimilating and/or learning new information. In this presentation, Dr Archana Sangole, Researcher in the Mechanical Engineering Department at École Polytechnique, provides an overview of essential elements of cognitive rehabilitation, describes the trends in existing assistive technologies catering to cognitive impairment and addresses the challenges that lie ahead in this area.
